The Genealogy of Jesus the Messiah

1 The ^[a]record of the genealogy of ^[b]Jesus the ^[c]Messiah, ^(A)the son of David, ^(B)the son of Abraham:

¹⁷ So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the ^(A)deportation to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the ^(B)deportation to Babylon to the ^[a]Messiah, fourteen generations.

²⁵ It is you who are ^(A)the sons of the prophets and of the ^(B)covenant which God ordained with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘^(C)And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ ²⁶ God ^(D)raised up His ^[a]Servant for you ^(E)first, and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”
